Our mission

The mission of Daken is to thoughtfully collect and reimagine the most outstanding interior design pieces of the past century with care and expertise.

Its founders, Zsófia Koma and Dániel Koma, were significantly influenced by their grandparents, Júlia Gaubek (a Meritorious Artist recipient of the Mihály Munkácsy Award) and József Ilosfai (a sculptor awarded with the Small Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic), who were prominent creators of their time.

Slow furniture

The concept of slow furniture represents a conscious, human-centric, sustainable approach to interior design. Its essence lies in making living spaces visually and functionally lovable by opting for high-quality, enduring, locally available creations, i.e. slow furniture pieces, rather than mass-produced, trend-focused items.

The foundation of this category is built upon vintage furniture, whose restoration and reimagining minimize carbon emissions and strengthen local manufacturing. Consequently, slow furniture creates unique value in both interior design and the 21st century.
